0.7.3 crashes

Message par flyforever »

Win xp , Visual c++, paths all ok. O.68 works fine. With O.7.3, the plane loads and as soon as the instruments appear, the program exits, with no error message.

We have the same problems with the 7.2 and 7.3 version. We expect the correction.

I installed it in C:\.
What I find odd is that in all the reinstalls, it asks to repair visual C++ over and over again. I uninstalled all the C++ versions, did a brand new installation, but with the same results.

If I remove the flylegacy.ini file from the folder, there's no difference in the crash. The program loads exactly the same and then crashes right after the touchdown sound.

Here' what I've noticed during the installation: I have the main drive C: and a backup drive W:. Flylegacy installs fine in drive C:, but after I click the Visual C++ repair button, the program installs the files in drive W:. The folder's name is scribbled, which leads me to believe that the program "thinks" it's installing in a Windows Vista OS. This may be the cause of my crashes.

I removed the secondary disk, where flylegacy was installing some files, probably the win c++ stuffe, and the installation proceeded normally. I don't understand why flylegcy ALWAYS displays the "repair" win c++ after each installation. Anyway, nothing has changed. Flylegacy starts normally and then shuts off immediately at the touchdown sound.

Maybe we found a solution to your problem.
Indeed, between the version 0.6.8 and 0.7.3, we have changed the tool to compile the software and some important files may be missing on your system.
Could you try to install Redistribuables C++ 2010 SP1 and tell me if that solves your problem:

I've reinstalled all the suggested fixes, and .73 still crashes as soon as the wheels make the touchdown sound.
I hope you come up with more suggestions.
My question is why does .73 inSTALL always ask to repair vc++?

About the 0.7.3 crash, it seems the problem occures with XP. Probably stuff about libraries 2008, 2010 of VC++. We are compiling a new release with all these libraries and perhaps ...

About the VC++ repair, it is also a mystery for me !
